Some of the benefits of volunteering for Families Advocating Intelligent Reform will be tangible, such as reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses when we have the available funds, or certificates for completion of a training program.
But the intangeables are extremely important too. Depending upon what Committee and/or project you desire to work on and you skill set, some possiblities are:
- A new understanding of your cause or issue
- Training on a specific skill
- The opportunity to interact with many different people
- The pleasure of being part of a dynamic team working for change and helping others
- Insight into one’s own abilities and beliefs
- New friends
- Some great new skills and accomplishments to put on your resume
- Feedback on your work
